The European Union Parliament has approved new MiCA rules on cryptocurrency licensing.

The EU also voted in favour of a "remittance provision" law that requires cryptocurrency operators to identify their customers, in an effort to combat money laundering.

Lawmakers also backed rules that require exchanges to request a license to operate in a specific territory. In addition, they require stabelcoin issuers to have sufficient collateral.
