Google Corporation has recently enhanced its search service by integrating a new feature that enables users to track cryptocurrency wallets by their addresses and view their balances. This service covers a range of popular networks including Bitcoin, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Avalanche, and Fantom. When a wallet address is entered into the search, the searcher is presented with the current token balance in the account.

It's important to note that, according to Google, the service only displays the native token for each of the mentioned networks. Moreover, the balance shown reflects the data at the time of the last transaction, as indicated in a special note by the corporation. This means updates to the wallet balance are not instantaneous but are updated in accordance with the last activity recorded for the wallet.

Previously, Google's search service began to display wallet balances associated with Ethereum Name Service (ENS) domains. The company retrieves these addresses' information from the blockchain explorer and analytics platform Etherscan.

ENS is a network service that assigns a user domain linked to your wallet address, simplifying the search and access to the account, thus facilitating easier interaction for the user.

Furthermore, starting from 2024, Google updated its policy regarding digital assets and related goods. Notably, the corporation has allowed advertisements for cryptocurrency ETFs targeted at the US market.

This development comes amidst news that US federal investigators have ordered Google to disclose information about viewers of certain videos on YouTube, highlighting the increasing intertwining of technology, privacy, and regulatory oversight in the digital age. This integration by Google signifies a significant step towards mainstream acceptance and ease of access to cryptocurrency information, reflecting the growing importance of digital assets in today's financial landscape.
