McDonald's may resume operations in Russia under another brand

"The company intends to save the funds already invested in Russia, which went to the development of the restaurant chain. Therefore, it is logical that the company is now looking for a way to do exactly that," adds the source.

Another source stressed that the network has not yet made a final decision on the return to the Russian market. The Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers doubts the return of the chain, as McDonald `s are under the influence of its parent company.

"Most likely, the founders will go out and start selling off the business piece by piece or hand it over to their managers. Whether there will be any other specifics is still unknown," said Igor Bukharov, president of the Federation.
