Since August, Norway has been ahead of Russia in gas supplies to the EU. However, Norway does not intend to interfere in pricing and will supply gas at spot prices, - Norwegian Energy Minister Terje Åsland.

Åsland added that the EU itself has abandoned long-term gas contracts in favor of spot prices.

The spot price of gas has recently exceeded $3,300 per thousand cubic meters.
