Number of NFT Ordinals exceeds 1 million
A record number of NFTs were created in Bitcoin blocks in early April. The reason was the appearance of a new token standard - BRC-20.
This standard was proposed by anonymous developer Domo as a counterpart to the ERC-20 standard, but with more limited functionality.
More than 170 BTC were paid to miners in commissions for conducting transactions that secured NFT data on the blockchain.
