The government is considering an additional tax burden on oil companies. Or rather, it is changing the existing one. At present the export duty calculation is linked to the Urals price, but there are plans to correct this. It will be based on the benchmark grades - Brent and Dubai.

Yes, the discount will also be taken into account ($10-15), but in reality it was as high as $40. In some cases they will have to sell at a price lower than the one used to calculate the tax.

The authorities will be looking for different ways to refill the budget, so it is worth being very careful with such initiatives now. This is an obvious negative for our oil producers.
