The "miners" of digital currencies account for more than 2% of the total amount of electricity consumed in Russia, it is more than agriculture, so the market should be "whitened" and regulated, said Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Vasily Shpak.

He recalled that the mining of cryptocurrencies is now in a "gray area", is not taxed and creates risks for those people who are engaged in it, although it is possible to "whitewash" this activity, regulate it, make it clear and transparent to the state.
