Tensions over the Taiwan issue as well as the trade standoff between the PRC and the U.S. will rise as China's restrictions are lifted.
Now U.S. policymakers will do their best to curb China's further moves. But they are unlikely to succeed. At least the removal of restrictions will lead to a surge in demand for oil. Prices will rise, and this is the opposite of U.S. goals.
